GO.

GO.

As I was contemplating what to write for my first blog post I realized this word that came to mind immediately. It's odd because I truly wanted to write about topics surrounding worship but God has something better in mind. It is easier to talk about the things that we like but as always I want to be submitted to God in all that I do. So I will submit to Holy Spirit now with this.

When you think of the word "go" it is often a green light that comes to mind. We are often met in our thoughts with pictures when we hear words that are in a sense directive, which involve management and/or guidance.

I was listening to a song that brought tears to my eyes and the name of the song is called "Try" by Jonathan McReynolds. It was a song describing a human struggle to settle in a pathway because of Life. Here are the lyrics:

I don't wanna live the crazy life

And I don't wanna pick a crazy wife

And I don't wanna be that crazy guy

Who lost what I had inside

And I don't want the sinners destiny

And I don't wanna miss what's best for me

So I'm gonna take what's left of me

Swallow pride, at least I...

I gotta make a sincere effort to be

All that you called me to be, God

I just don't wanna stay here, living beneath

I owe it to me to at least try

So I'm gonna try

Try, try, try, try

See I'm gonna try

Try, try, try, try

I place the lyrics above because isn't that the cry of all human kind to be all that they are called to be. To find the purpose of why they are alive and to fulfill that purpose on earth. How does this relate to the word GO?

Well the scripture that came to mind is found in the book of Matthew 28: 16-20

"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

When I hear the word GO I hear "Be who I have created you to be and accomplish my will for your life." So what does that look like? For me it is to be involved in music , to be creative as an artist etc. But the most of all is to be all of that in accomplishing the command from Jesus our Lord. If I am doing all of the things to be " ME" and not accomplish the "GO" then am I truly doing as he has commanded? Or am I just busy?

I am, and we are called to teach and disciple and to help do our part in the kingdom of God. To reach the lost and show them the way to eternal life. To show them there is HOPE in this day and all they need to do is believe in Jesus Christ and to accept the salvation he has to offer. He will wipe every sin away and make them as white as snow. What a loving redeeming God we serve.

So let me ask you this, What does your "GO" look like? How are you making disciples today? How are you accomplishing God's will in your life? Are you living out your God called purpose? If you are not aware of these things find a church and find someone to walk with y0u to help you grow.

I encourage you to GO and make disciples and be who God has called you to be. Whatever field of employment, whatever gift He has imparted into YOU and Glorify the Lord with the time you have here on earth.
