Pure Hearts

It's been a long time since I have written and posted a blog. Believe it or not, this blog has been sitting here waiting to be edited and released. I can't wait to share with you, what's been on my heart because I believe it is necessary for us who are godly as the scriptures say. If you know me you know I love Jesus and I am a lover of righteousness. I may be jokester but when it comes to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, I play no games. I understood what was done for me and I just want to be obedient before our Holy God who deserves nothing but the best.

So let's start here. Let us take a look into the old testament. In the old testament we see slavery, we see rebellion and we see the promises of God fulfilled. His wonderful works on display throughout the journey of the Israelites. We see the Israelites, who are bound by slavery for years. All of a sudden in a dark place God urges Moses to deliver his people from slavery and bondage. He was called to be the person to rescue them guiding by I AM, himself.

Moses was a man chosen for a time and a season. Moses did not want the task after all he experienced in Egypt in his own life. He fled as he accidentally killed a man. Moses didn't have to go back to where he came from but he was called by God. But God, so merciful, so loving and so caring for his people provided everything needed for the journey that he was about to encounter. Remember He was not encountering something that he was not prepared for, our God supplied everything that was needed to him at the right time and the right season when he was called he was ready for action.

Let me ask you a couple of questions...

  • What is God calling you to?

  • What is got preparing you for?

  • What are you learning in this season that could be used for years down the road?

I know myself I've been frustrated in a season where I know God is calling me to something but it's not yet attainable. So what are we doing in the midst of this season?

God is interested in preparing us for the places he wants to take us to. But if we are not focused we are not truly receiving the lessons we're meant to learn in the hidden places. We will not be ready for what God has for us and we won't be ready for the people that are waiting to receive us.

Take notes, sit back and reflect. God is interested in this process just as much as he is into the result. He is not expecting perfection. He is looking for willing hearts that are pure without an alterer motive.

Moses was willing and able to Go.

Think about this, what would have happened if Moses never obeyed God? An entire generation would have continued to cry out in agony. People would have continued to be in slavery unto Pharaoh. So fast forward to now, What if you ignore the call to free people that you know out of bondage? What if you neglect the call of God over your life? How many people would never hear of the wonder-working power of Jesus our Lord and Savior.

God is after... people who are willing to step out in Faith. God is interested in us and all of our imperfection. Think about this, why would a God search after a people he knew would struggle to love him the same? Why would he die for those people?

That is the beautiful thing, he loved us before we loved him, he died for us while we were yet imperfect. This my friends is true love. Matchless love! No human could ever comprehend the love of God. It is without limits. How amazing and impeccable is our Jesus?

So right now, what would you say is the posture of your heart? Because of the posture of your heart and my heart matters to God.

Jeremiah 17: 9-10

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

Psalms 119:2

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart.

God is looking for people who are willing to serve him without getting a trophy. He is looking for people who will worship him in spirit and in truth. He is looking for people that are willing to Go into the world to live lives dedicated to obedience to Jesus Christ.

He is looking for people who do the right thing behind closed doors. God is looking for a generation to be used that is pure and set apart willing to be used at any capacity. It is only God who sees the hearts of a man that can judge it. We aren't able to go into the heart of a man and judge the motive, the one thing we can judge is the actions of it.

I am so interested in these topics because I feel as if we don't talk about them enough. Topics of integrity and character. It is exactly what the Lord is looking for and it's not something that we put a lot of energy towards because it is invasive and personal. We must be able to do a lot of tough heart checks before God. Isn't this what Jesus did with the disciples? Each time they questioned him he answers back with a comment deep enough to evaluate their motive. HE is amazing at that!

Psalms 26:2

As David prayed, Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind.

We have to allow God to evaluate us. It is important to do this often so that we can ask God for his help. Holy Spirit will lead us and guide us, in how we can grow.

So pray a prayer like this... Lord check the motives of my heart and show me if there's anything in me that does not please you. Help me to change my ways and look more like you.

I think that's the posture that we should have all the time. The Lord wants us to give our best because he gave his best to us. You know, it's a good thing that God can only see a heart, I believe if people saw our hearts at our worst moments it would not be so good. God himself will show us personally where we stand AND When God reveals the truth to us, things become VERY clear. I believe that God does this because he wants a personal relationship with us and he wants this to be an individual thing.

My God is so amazing and so loving enough that he would provided a way for us to be free by dying on the Cross for us. He chooses to forgive us!

Jesus gave us a choice to serve him and lay down our lives as a living sacrifice. He gave us a choice. That is what real love looks like. Real love is not controlled, and real love is not demanded. Real love is given without any expectation. That is my God and I hope and pray that that is the one you call Father today.

Let us put our minds and hearts before God. Let us position ourselves in humility. Allow God's word to purify us and continue to keep us in the posture that pleases Him.

Father, show us what needs to change in our hearts. Show us what needs to be sacrificed. Lord show us what we need to do to be able to be more Obedient to you. I believe our life is supposed to go from glory to glory but it cannot go from glory to glory in disobedience and rebellion. God help us to be people who are RIGHT before you. Holy Spirit we trust you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
