I CHOOSE LIFE.

You know when I think of the word of obedience a lot comes to mind. What happens if I obey? What would happen if I disobeyed?

I know that it’s not a good topic in these days, people wants to talk more important things. People don’t want to be confronted with the reality of right and wrong anymore. It is better to talk about how they feel and make them feel better. Isn't it interesting that the very thing that caused us to feel good, causes us to sin most times? Think about it.

God however, is interested in obedience. I write this blog today knowing that I don’t always obey and I am not a perfect person. But isnt it amazing that God isn't after perfection, Jesus is already perfect ,what do we wanna be a close second? It is impossible due to our sinful nature. If we don't sin with our bodies we sin with our minds. One way or another we are always failing. God himself is after a heart willing to OBEY. A life willing to SURRENDER. Jesus is unable to work with pride, he works with a humbled heart.

James Chapter 4: 4-10

Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. 5Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him.b 6And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,

“God opposes the proud

but gives grace to the humble.”c

7So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. 9Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

The Lord is aware of all of my shortcomings and my challenges but despite that he knows my will is HIS WILL. My Life is hidden in Christ. Shanyse outside of Jesus is a HOT MESS. But I am surrendered. My life has been given over to the Lord and it is no longer my life that I live. It is not always easy but I don't regret my life given over to Him. I have had many people make fun of me in my years with the Lord. I have many people who have left me in this walk and are no longer believers. In spite of it all, I am His and He is mine. I could have turned from God but I have seen the destruction that comes with disobedience and rebellious behavior.

Let me talk to you about this here, you know we all have our own dreams and aspirations and some of them have happened and others have not. I have a lot that has not come to pass. We can question God we can question ourselves and blame ourselves as to why they didn’t happen! OH my...I could’ve done this better... I should’ve done that ...Why did I do that, now I have to live with this deep regret... If I did that I would be so much better off... and the list goes on!

I have come to realize that no matter the dreams that I’ve had personally and the goals that I have personally, if God does not want them for my life then I DON"T WANT THEM ETHER MMHHKAY! I don’t want them either. See, I have to trust he is a Good Father and he will honor the desires of our hearts if they are in line with Him. Let me remind you IF IT AINT HIS WILL, it will not be well, it will not be fruitful and it will not multiply and it will never be How God originally intended it to be. Yahweh , My Perfect God intended Life to be beautiful and without striving and exhaustion.

Genesis 3:17-19

And to the man he said,

“Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree

whose fruit I commanded you not to eat,

the ground is cursed because of you.

All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.

18It will grow thorns and thistles for you,

though you will eat of its grains.

19By the sweat of your brow

will you have food to eat

until you return to the ground

from which you were made.

For you were made from dust,

and to dust you will return.”

You can say well why not? How? God has intended your life to be perfect but sin came into the world and perfect became flawed. And we all know Adam and Eve messed that up.

Constantly throughout the word of God, He is constantly trying to reveal to us his will for our lives and a condition to achieving his will for our lives is #1 SURRENDER. We have to be willing to surrender our lives, our wills and putting it all on the line for the sake of relationship with Jesus Christ. Trusting God's Plan, the way it was always intended to be. At this point, we (the world) have done what we want. We have chosen another way, A way that is faster, A way that is prettier ,glamorous, easy , less sacrificial and less demanding. Let's be honest and evaluate ourselves. The next way to a life unto God is #2 OBEDIENCE, yikes! I am stepping on toes. Before people and behind close doors Do you obey?

I hear it all the time people say God knows my heart, God knows my weaknesses ...RIGHT and HE DIED FOR ALL OF IT. Are you saying that God is not big enough to help you in your weaknesses? Are you saying God is not able to deliver you from yourself? Was his blood not strong enough? Please do not make excuses to not be obedient before God. Our God is not weak and unable to assist! HE IS STRONGER THAN SIN, HE HAS CONQUERED THE GRAVE, HE CONQUERED OVER satan. He is the matchless LOVER. The REDEEMER of all THINGS. HE CAN and HE WILL MAKE ALL THINGS NEW. GIVE GOD AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE YOU FROM THE INSIDE OUT.

1 John 5:2

2By this we know that we love thechildren of God: when we love God and keepHis commandments.

Listen to me. Look around you. Look at this world.

Do you want to live your life unto a broken world/society? Or do you want to live your life unto God who was been broken for you to live out his purpose here on earth? His goal is that one day you can dwell with him in Heaven. Remember Everyone won't get to heaven. I know people say it all the time but The Word of God says the opposite. I can also give you lies here on this blog but I choose not to. The way that God has told us to walk will ensure us to be a blessed people, to be a fruitful people, and to multiply. Every other way leads to the destruction of ourselves and our relationships. And all of these decisions come down to surrender and obedience. I still tell the ladies I disciple that they have two choices to make the right decision or to make the wrong decision. I will leave you with this....

Deuteronomy 30:15-16

See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

Lord, My Father help us all in our obedience walk with you. In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
